Hi!
Can't find the maker which I believe to be B.V? Any suggestion appreciated.

Hello!
The silversmith's punch is on the right side of the photo. It's hard to read it correctly. Perhaps "НЖ".
"АЯ" is the punch of the assayer.

Yes of course and thanks! Somehow I missed it.
In the makers mark I think also it is the letter 'Ж' so that narrows down the possibilities. Didn't find any suitable one for 'НЖ' from the period so I try to continue the search. Possibly also he could be unknown from the period.

Yes А·Я that is assayer Aleksandr Ilitj Jachinkov (or Jashinov, Jashenkov??) 1795-1826 in St.Petersburg. The maker, however, is a tricky case. As mentioned his last name starts with Ж (Latin Zh). What letter his forename begins with is ??? Anyway, I didn't either find any suitable master active in StP in early late 1700, early 1800, but the assayer's working period limits also to what period the object was made. Sorry!

That is the match. Thanks!
