Hi!

I agree of authenticity. According to neoclassical style I would say it is made app. 1800. A very nice find!

Carl Johann Berg:
(born in Reval) - in 1771 studied in Reval, in 1777 master's assistant, since 1784 silversmith of the foreign guild in St.Petersburg, from 1798 to 1799 worked for the court, from 1802 to 1803 aldermann, had apprentices, known till 1808. Initials for hallmarks: BERG, CIB.

I can add that the year can be narrowed down to 1798-99 according to the assayers working period and the introduction of the '84' silver content mark in May 1798.
