Russian silver spoon made of coin

Postby Knizko » Sat Feb 12, 2022 2:58 pm

Hi, recently i found this item it's a silver spoon from Tsarist Russia made of 1 ruble coin Peter II. 1727
The spoon was made by master Vasily Dmitriev 1871-1886, the owner of a silver workshop. The initials "VD"
B.C 1874 hallmark - tester - Viktor Vasilyevich Savinsky - Moscow 1859-1894
Hallmark 84- purity of silver 875.
Hallmark of Moscow city
I want to know if anyone came across this type of silver and if all of my informations are correct.

Hi,
So, there is Native American chief on the handle soldered to Peter II coin.
And soldered so poorly, no serious Russian silversmith would let this leave the workshop like this.
Besides, all marks are poorly made i.e. faked, particularly B.C initials, the year, 84 and its frame, and Moscow StGeorge, all wrong.
In short, marks lack perfection seen in genuine Russian marks where every detail and every digit is immaculately cut into steel pung.ch.
All said, the spoon screams: FAKE!

Regards

Mart's answer is fully enough: FAKE! We do not discuss or explain why a fake is a fake for the simple reason that this is a public site and fakers read it too.
