Sugar tongs- need assistance to identify

Hi,
Just got those sugar tongs. I was told they are Russian silver but yet could not get to identify them.
Maker's mark seem to be similar to UnIdentified Moscow 1893-1895 but other than that no clue (I could be totally wrong with that as well).
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I'm afraid that you are wrong, sorry. However, I would be interested in knowing where from you got the information. Would you mind telling us that. Anyway, some hints....
1. The marking is insufficient...
2. The right looking kokshnik was implemented not earlier that in 1908...
3. The marking on the kokoshnik has nothing to do with Moscow...

Question:
1. What are the letters in the maker's mark in your opinion?
Another hint:
"...I was told...."...!? Never buy anything your are unable to identify by yourself!

Hi!

Probably unknown master (PL#731) from Kostroma. The two dots behind the neck supports this also.

The possibility of a praxis that on objects which might get broken with the hallmarkings only the oval kokoshnik was placed beside the makers mark.

Please do not create "regulations" based on unverifiable assumptions. There is no base for your "praxis". It might only lead to situations were fake, insufficient or incorrect etc. marks/markings suddenly become authentic markings. That would be a disaster.

No, I don't think so. The only possible "possibility" would be that the object is broken where the marks are and a possible reparation by e.g. soldering would destroy a part of the marks. This is not the case here.

Are there any marks inside the bending of the sugar tongs (in the other end)? Sugar tongs are in some cases marked there.

Here are some clarifications-
The tongs were purchased through an online auction (and described as Russian 84 silver). This is of their source.
As of the other hint- The letters read to me as Cyrillic N H A - but I am not familiar with Russian in general.

Juke- you are correct- when I've inspected the inner side of the tongs I do see a mark there. I will try to take a photo and post- but due to its location I am not sure it will be clearer- we'll see.

BTW- both handles of the tongs have the same (matching) marks.

So based on the fact that she is looking right I learn that this is 1908-1926 84 Russian Silver.
Yet, no idea who is the maker.

Well, now you're talking. I hereby withdraw my suspicious statement. You should have showed this mark in the first place. It confirms the authenticity of the tongs. The set of marks is now complete. But the maker? Try to clean the maker's mark with a toothpick or a small rough brush. Also tell what Greek letter is behind the neck that would be of great help in order to find the maker.

BTW! This is a good example of how important it is to carefully investigate an object in order to find and show all marks!

I believe that the maker's mark shows ИIМ and the Greek letter is tay (T). That would be Kostroma. If this is the case, is unfortunately the maker unknown to name.
