29th Moscow Artel

Post by Goldstein »

Hi -

found a nice tea glass holder from the 29th Moscow Artel in pristine condition. Objects from this Artel are very rare because this Artel existed only from 1915-17 and only made sugar bowls and tea glass holders.

Congratulations, a very nice "podstakannik" indeed. Unfortunately the problem is that almost always the glass is missing. Even more unfortunate is that the size of the glass is an old Russian and later a Soviet standard. It measures in diameter bottom ~60mm and top ~65mm. To find such glasses today is very very difficult. I assume you have many podstakannikies without glasses in your fine collection. The vast majority I believe. FYI, I might have put aside a few but only a few ones. In case your are interested, send me a PM. This is not a market place.

Hi -

I am not a pronounced "podstakanniki" collector - only if I find very beautiful (enamel) or by well-known manufacturers, I attack! On my travels through Russia, I bought myself a small supply of glasses (some wonderfully engraved) - just in case that. Thanks for your offer!
