Snuff / chewing tobacco container

just got this Snuff / chewing tobacco container (waiting for the mail - photos from the seller - uncleaned!)
Maker unlegible, townmark for me not clear.
So my question: can someone identify the townmark?
Any idea wellcome!

Would the pierced/filigree work not preclude this from containing snuff or tobacco, due to spillage and drying out?

Could it be for holding pot pourri, what are the measurements?

there was a long tradition of ashtrays and snuff/chewing tobacco in shoeform in Russia. Measurements between 6cm and 8 cm.

Juantotree is correct. This particular shoe could not have been designed for snuff or tobacco due to the filagree sides. The filagree makes it useless in both cases.

In my collection, these shoes with lids run as snuff / chewing tobacco containers. That fillgree containers are not suitable for snuff is even noticeable to laymen! But what laymen also usually do not know - Snuff is offered in different versions.
For your better understanding I enclose some photos. Maybe you inform yourself how chewing tobacco is consumated...

I found one of these filigree shoes which had no lid and it had a solid metal part where it seemed as if a cigarette holder would be placed, or possibly a cigarette, it had no hallmarks and I assumed it was from the Ottoman Empire ::: I put this silver cigarette holder on it and it seemed to fit quite well :: Are there Russian examples of these cigarette holders? :: Most of these with the amber or bakelite tip seem to be attributed to the Ottoman Empire :





This is the cigarette holder, most likely Ottoman Empire, it did fit quite well in that filigree shoe :::::

The Russian cigarette holders are all very small and characteristic. Wood, silver, niello, enamel, silver amber/ivory etc.
