Russian cream jug, maker mark HG

Please, let me know the maker of this small russian cream jug.
As I see, it is made in St. Petersburg, Maker mark HG.
The marks are in the bottom, and the edge in the bottom.

just a shot in the dark: it looks like the work of a bigger firm....and maybe it was a 3-letter mark before it was polished...

New (old) insights: in 1894 St. Petersburg was the assay office for Riga, assayer Sewer, Aleksandr (1892-1895).
The cream jug is made by Grünbaum, Heinrich Gottfried Ferdinand (1884-1908) from Reval.



Here an other object fom him - same date, same assayer, same town!




I am sure that there will be endless discussions again - the fact is that objects of Baltic silversmiths carry assay marks from St. Petersburg (1894) - real pieces are available!

I believe Goldstein is right about the maker. It is Heinrich Grünbaum in Reval, Estonia 1884-1908. The explanation for the jug having St. Petersburg's hallmark is rather simple. The Reval assay office was closed down in 1886. This meant that the master's had to take their object for assaying to St. Petersburg, Riga, Vilna or Warshaw, the only ones left in the area. St. Petersburg was the closest one and the assayer there was Aleksandr Sevyer.
