Hi,
Search for secondary marks on handle and spout.If none, I would say it`s suspicious.
Dvoinik (in perfect rectangle,distorted ``8``and barely visible notches) on the lid looks wrong.
Let`s wait for more opinions.

Apart from the strange marks, the untypical chain, the imprecise engraving and a lot of toothpaste, the most striking feature is the new/old scratched interior of the lid - this is the only place that normally looks new even after 100 years of use.
My advice: do not buy!

I am always open to stand corrected, but; very poor engraving, then the mark I posted enlarged. Was there ‚‚dvoinik‚‚ of this form ?
Even if everything is right, and it`s not, why would you invest in the teapot of inferior quality like this ?
Chained lids are generally seldom seen and I am always suspicious for being the first one to come across something previously not documented.
Do not regret it. Again, this is the worst engraving I have seen lately. Silver is collected for its beauty of craftsmanship and design, right ?

Hi Dad -

I did not know that Ovtschinnikov produced scrap silver tea/coffeepots! It really looks like the work of a Court supplier! The person who stamped the mark must had a shivering fit - it took two trys....
This pots with chained lids were very favorited by nomades with horse or camel drawn carts....the main clientel of Ovtschinnikov!

Sometimes the forum degenerates to an advertising center for fakers!
