Here is a spoon that I was sure was silver, but it took me many minutes to find the markings. Look Russian to me; any info appreciated.

Not Russia but Soviet made! Try to understand that the difference quality between Imperial Russia and the Soviet Union production is close to immeasurable. What are the letters right of the hallmark? Unfortunately the photo is out of focus. Anyway the spoon is made in Moscow between 1927-1958

Thank you for the super speedy reply. I'll try to take a better picture but the mark is really really tiny. Do those letters identify the maker or something else? I do have a few other pieces of (earlier) Russian silver that I've come across that I'll post when I get the chance; maybe you'll like those better :)

No problem, you're welcome. Yes, the letters represent the maker. Please do show what you have but I repeat, do not mix imperial Russia with the Soviet Union!

I'm pretty sure the letters are: ОП

Sorry, but I have nothing on ОП or 0П for the Soviet Union.

Hi Olga, thanks for your interest. These two pics are the best I could do using my handheld camera. If this still isn't good enough maybe its time for me to get a tripod?

Hi,

Dear Jag. It looks I found a photo of your spoon on forum podstakanoff.net.

There are: hallmark 875, plus "ОП", plus restoration hallmark of Moscow Jewelry Fabric (МЮЗ).

So I think "ОП" means word "ОПЫТНЫЙ" (experimental).

Why "restoration"? Why "experimental"? I don't know ))
