By the way, in Ukraininan online auctions I often see interesting Scythian objects (well, I hope they are really Scythian). Ukraine is rather poor country now, and many people use georadars to find in grond something, and sell.

Examples, from Ukraininan online auctions.

Hi,
Let`s not be naive, museum pieces are not sold online.
Faking ancient and medieval artifacts has been well established business for decades.
Not going into details well known to me:countries, where, what etc.
Everything is a fake unless proven otherwise by carbon isotope testing.

Hi olga_kehl -
Hi AG2012 -

as a big fan of the Skyths and their culture I visited the most important exhibitions in St. Petersburg and Munich - it was just a blast!
Geo radar equipment is the sale hit to Ukraine since years. Why? I do not want to go deeper. Morallity? Pecunia non olet! The authorities are blind, the trade is flourishing. Like everywhere and with all required goods. Not really new.
I have the hope that my object was found coincidentally while plowing some fields - and not by unauthorized excavations of kurgans!
Fakes?
Yes - like everything - boobs and fingernails for example....

Regards
Goldstein
