Dubious object?

Postby Smokanabeach » Mon Sep 07, 2015 1:57 pm

Hi All!

Back with another enameled russian item.

First I was thinking this spoon was dubious mainly because of a difference i found between assayer and maker's mark (whereas lot of auction websites associate themselves together!):

- Assayer: Ivan Lebedkin, Moscou 1898-1914
- Maker: Mikhail Sokolov, Moscou 1860-90

But considering the item, I was convinced it was from the good period it did!

And if the maker was: Mariìa Vasilbevna Semenova, Moscou 1908-26?

Through this hypothesis, we also have to consider kokoshnik left facing mark... Could I conclude this is an original produced in 1908?

Thanks for your opinions!

Regards,

Smoka

Enameled objects are always suspicious objects. Please show a sharp close-up of the marks. Crop it to the marks only. Tell us the exact measures of the the oval kokoshnik hallmark's frame. Its width and height in mm x mm. Use a caliper, thank you. Your current photo is too smudgy and unclear.

Hi.

I think, this spoon is the nice work by Maria Semyonova Workshop. Moscow, 1899-1908.
