I came across on this beauty but not sure if it is not fake. Below the pictures. What do you think?

Some comments...a dubious case...the marking is a bit strange and contradictory. The fineness mark 84 has notches in the frame also being a separate mark. It shouldn't have notches at that time because this kind of town mark (the other mark) was used before 1860. The assaying mark, assayers initials and year, are missing. The outlook is not exactly Russian...but? What is its size?

There are some KP masters in St Petersburg but only one fitting the period. That would be Karl Palm. He marked KP ~1825-1834. However, it is hardly him...
Are the showed marks the only marks on the case? Both the body and the lid should carry marks.

As mentioned a dubious case. I don't say that it is a fake ---yet. It needs a closer investigation. Somehow I get the impression of a "Russificated object" but...?

The size of it is 15x10x3 cm, weight 340 grams. No other silver marks are present.

Yes and it was sold for (admin edit). I had asked the seller some questions but never got a reply.

1.The badge is obviously attached after engraving
2.The style of engraving looks oriental to me (as mentioned)
3. Replicas and copies of ``imperial eagles`` and military badges are common at very low prices
4. The interior of the box is clearly seen - there is no riveting and that was the only real method to attach whatever you wanted on boxes and cigarette cases (badges, memorabilia etc.). One cannot attach this badge with hard solder, meaning soft solder, a tin-lead alloy, was used.
All said the box does not look genuine.

Zolotnik gave useful information how to disclose faked hinges on salt thrones; the same here.Tubes of the hinge are not aligned properly.
Then, poor solder line. In a word, this is NOT the craftsmanship that could have left any St.Petersburg workshop.
