Silver Coronation Token 1896 was most probably attached later by the owner of the cigarette case as a memento of the occasion.
What is known about АОАМЗ ? Why question mark in one of Postnikova`s edition?

Hi AG2012 -

it was a wellknown Artel of silversmiths in Moscow. The cigarette cases I have in my collection or seen elsewhere are very fine and tasteful made.

The question mark in PL refers to the time of the activity of the Artels.

The box I have is quite plain but, I was amazed with its heavy gauge - probably close to 300 g as far as I remember, the heaviest Russian case I have.
