Khlebnikov spoon???

Having seen this post another myth crossed my mind;``boxed items``.Often described at auctions,too; ``in original box``.This means nothing;old jewelry boxes are sometimes very expensive if genuine and bear an important maker`s logo.Besides, every old box can be reshaped and even impressions to fit a particular piece are easily made.OK,if people like their boxes displayed here, we will not object, but they mean nothing,really.

It is obvious Khlebnikov was appointed master silversmith by several European courts; all I could recognize is Greek coat of arms; left, 4th from the top. (And many awards, too).Probably not ``appointed`` officially by all of them, but had special orders from the royalty. There seems to be even a British lion in one of the coat of arms here, but not clearly seen.Can we have the list of European courts depicted on the left? Having seen so many awards and coats of arms here, it would be rally silly to expect them all punched;the Russian Imperial eagle was the most important for Khlebnikov for obvious reasons (his Tzar).The question is whether silver made for a particular court or/and by special order had somehow different marks from ordinary marks for the market. Trev helped to identify silver made by Garrard, London for a particular court with crowned mark, NOT found on silver made for the common market at the time. In short — were Khlebnikov marks on royal silver a bit different from commonly used marks? That would not be a surprise — it was the highest honor to be appointed crown silversmith or having silver ordered by the royalty.But there are certainly very few items with indisputable royal provenance.On the other hand,there are museums of applied art everywhere and curators are sometimes benevolent to discuss and show.

Thanks, ``Heracles`` or a ``wild man``; they were fond of clubs as a weapon. LOL. George I was the king of Greece and belonged to Danish Royalty — close resemblance. Still, I would like to know a list of courts depicted on the left.

Welcome to the forum. You say you bought the spoons as original Khlebnikov but have you any doubts or are you testing our contributors? Why are you in doubt? You know where you bought the ‘original Khlebnikov’s' and how much you paid for those, could you please enlighten us with some documentation. Thanks for your cooperation.

I bought the spoon with a Diller in Germany. I may return, of course. I must, however, is 100% sure it's really Fake. I beg to know the different opinions from other specialists. Thank you!

Diller or dealer? Is ``Diller`` an auction house or an antique shop? Either way, it depends on how much you paid for it; if trivial sum keep it, if not, you better return it, if possible.
One can afford a Picasso for $ 500 to decorate the bedroom, but not if paid $ 5 million or so.

Zolotnik added enough ``red arrows`` as a solid proof; a few more would not be too boring, hopefully.
Open cloisonné cells, for Heaven’s sake! The enamel spills out!
And look at the circular pattern arrowed; there is no white enamel at all.
Besides, what is the crown at the top?
Fantasy décor, in a word, and poor design altogether.
But there is something crossing my mind; the shaft of the spoon is not so bad when compared to the rest; God knows what they do — possibly even assembled from different parts; look at the soldering line at the top — clumsy work.

The courts: 1.Russia 2.Montenegro 3.Serbia 4. Denmark 5. The Netherlands
The mark for Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich is the most important;there were special marks for royal silver.
