Hello everyone,
Firstly I must say what an educated bunch you are! I have searched for these marks, but my resource books on Russian silver is quite limited.
Could this be an Artel mark?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Ali

Apologies, forgot to add that there is an initial in the decoration/ watchtower to the front. Am not sure if this means anything at all.
Cheers.

Hi argentgirl -

the mark "worker´s head with a hammer on his shoulder" and the Greek letter delta (triangle) for Moscow on the left , the silver content 875/1000 is the official assay mark in use 1954-58 in the USSR. The maker АМЮ 5 (Artel "Moskowskij Juwelir", the number 5 for the year 1955). The shown building is the Spasky Tower, part of the Kremlin in Moscow. The letter M is the "artist" of the sketch. The pushbutton is a coloured glass cabochon.
