Help identify a Hallmark

Postby haber1 » Sun Apr 01, 2012 5:19 am

I have a pair of candlesticks approximately 140-150 years old from the Ukraine. I could not identify the Hallmark. Can anyone help please?

Your candlesticks are not made in Ukraine but imported via Kiev in Ukraine from who knows where if there are no other marks. One possibility сould be Germany. Look for other marks. You see the mark you show is a Russian import mark used 1882-1899. The letters ПТ is an abbreviation for ПРИВОЗНЫХ ТОВАРОВ meaning imported goods. Sorry not Russian made but silver in the fineness of 875/1000.

Hi, All.

Rare punch for the import goods, which imported through the Kiev customs. On mark there is Saint Michail the Archangel - the town's mark of Kiev. I think, 187*-1882.

Best Reg..
