Hi Bill -
I do not know, what you want to know exactly. The mark on left shows: 875 (silver content 875/1000), the worker´s head with a hammer on his shoulder (state/assay mark), the greek letter delta, townmark of Moscow, in use 1954-58. The mark on the right shows who made the case in which year: МЮ6, 7, 8, 9, 0,1, 2 = 1956 -1962. MЮ = (lat) MJu = Moskovskaja Juvelirnaja Fabrika.
This is a communistic, massproduction with a traditional motif other than the boring socialistic workers and views of steel kombinats etc. The Bogatyr, the former Russian knight was a often used motiv in Russia - same like the Liberty statue in USA - you find it nearly on everything.
To be blunt: your case is nothing special, massproduced in a communistic state factory in the 50s. Just a time witness how wellmade Russian silver perished...and never will come again.
