ID Request for Vilnius Enameled Spoon late 1800's

Great pictures indeed. The spoon has been made in Moscow and as you wrote in the 1880-90's, what I can read of the year mark. The makers mark consists typically of two or three letters, here I can not say what the letters are. Possibly if you try to clean with a toothpick and some silver cleaning polish we might see it clearer.

The reason I think the spoon was made in Vilnius is because of the city mark character - a knight on horseback facing "left". The Moscow city marks of the 1880- 1890s on this site have the St. George on horseback character facing "right". Could you all please clarify this for me? Is the city Vilnius or Moscow?

I can't get a clearer photo of the maker mark...sorry.

Moscow is most often seen facing right, but there are exceptions. One of these is a the combined 84 & St. George mark used after c.1880 that is on your piece.

The left facing St Georg mark for Moscow was used between 1891-1896. It is correct that Vilnius also has a left facing rider, but he is not St. Georg. He is....sorry I don't remember right now.

Better late than ever, now I suddenly recall the name: The rider in Vilnius crest is Vythis, the white knight of Lithuania.
