The Seven Treasures: Japanese Enamels from the V&A

Until 2nd June 2013

Enamelling is a painstaking and time-consuming craft, a fact often obscured by the polished brilliance of the finished objects.

Between 1880 and 1910, the Japanese enamelling industry reached a level of exquisite sophistication that would later come to be regarded as a Golden Age. This exhibition showcases some of the most beautiful Japanese enamels in the V&A’s extensive collection, alongside enamels produced in Sheffield, showing different but not unrelated traditions and techniques.

Opening hours:
Monday-Friday 10am—4pm (closes at 5pm from 1 Apr)
Saturday 10am—5pm
Sunday 11am—4pm

Admission: Free
