The Apprentice's Trial - Old Bailey 1764

Postby admin » Sat Aug 11, 2007 12:28 pm

The transcript of the trial of two 18th century London apprentices provides a view into the procedures of hallmarking at London's Goldsmiths Hall.
Forum member "dognose" - aka Trev, has written & contributed an article giving background information on the silversmiths involved and distilled out the Goldsmiths Hall procedures.
It is well worth a read and can be found just below the transcript of the The Apprentice's Trial
