Adey Bellamy Savory (Grimwade 15,16,17,96) was not only a silversmith but also a bullion dealer, on the 20th. of July 1829 he was robbed of 28 French gold Napoleons by a Charles Wilson who had run into Savory's shop in Cornhill whilst his son Joseph (Grimwade 96, 1853) was completing a transaction with a customer, Wilson snatched the coins and took flight, Joseph gave chase and Wilson was apprehended and found with the coins in his possession. He was tried at the Old Bailey on 10th. September 1829, found guilty and sentenced to death, he was 27 years old.
