Sylvester Brand, who has been incapacitated for seven or eight months with a sprained ankle, is again on duty in the china and glass department of the Hess & Culbertson Jewelry Co.

Miss Mildred Hess, daughter of George J. Hess, president of the Hess & Culbertson Jewelry Co., was given a dinner by class-mates at Lenox Hall in recognition of having had the highest average for scholarship and deportment at the December examinations.

In order that several old employees of the company might be rewarded for their faithfulness, the stockholders of the Hess & Culbertson Jewelry Company recently voted to increase the capital stock from $65,000 to $140,000. Among the employees who will benefit by this change are E. K. Helmerich, Arnold Apple and Leo Bogt.
