THE NORTH SEA CUP
The second North Sea Cup race resulted in an easy victory for the May Morn, thirty-one tons. The Prize was, as last year, the gift of Mr. H. Gordon Hodgkinson, and consisted of the very handsome cup figured above, the work of Messrs. Hancocks and Co., 152, New Bond Street. Last year the donor was victor, and presented the cup to the German Emperor. The course this year was from Dover to Heligoland.

Statuette of the Marquis of Exeter.—The equestrian statuette presented to the Marquis of Exeter by past and present brother officers of the Northamptonshire Regiment is now on view at the Grosvenor Gallery, where it will remain till the end of the season. It was carried out in silver by Messrs. Hancocks & Co., of New Bond Street, after the model from the life by Mr. C. B. Birch, A.R.A., and is an exceedingly life-like representation, creditable to both sculptor and silversmith.

The Doncaster Cup, this year, is a statuette in silver, the subject being His Imperial Majesty the Emperor Napoleon III. in full uniform on his favorite charger, on a pedestal, enriched with a silver bas relief, representing the meeting of Her Majesty Queen Victoria and H.I.M. the Emperor Napoleon. The stewards of the Doncaster meeting selected the subject, as a graceful tribute of respect to the Emperor, upon the birth of the Imperial Prince, and as a memento of the alliance happily existing between the two countries. This cup is manufactured by Mr. C. F. Hancock, Jeweller and Silversmith to the principal Sovereigns and Courts of Europe, Bruton-street, London.
