Partnerships of Thomas Waterhouse

The incuse mark for silver attributed to Waterhouse and Co illustated on page 378 of The Silvermiths of Birmingham and their Marks 1750-1980 could perhaps with confidence be attributed to the partnership of Thomas Waterhouse and Joseph Jukes junior. According to the Morning Chronicle of the 26th Feburary 1806 this partnership of silver platers was dissolved on Jan 1st 1806.

Joseph Jukes senior entered two marks at Birmingham sometime during the period 1773 1801.

Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership lately subsisting under the Firm of Waterhouse and Company, between Thomas Waterhouse and Joseph Juke, jun. of Birmingham, in the County of Warwick, Silver-Platers, is this Day dissolved by mutual Consent; all Persons indebted to the said Partnership are requested to pay their respective Debts to Messrs. Waterhouse and Lightfoot, who are hereby authorised to receive them, and who will discharge all Debts due from the said Partnership, and by whom the Trade will in future be carried on. Witness our Hands, this 1st Day of January 1806.
