Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subisting between us the undersigned, James Deakin, William Pitchford Deakin, John Deakin, and Albert Deakin, in the businesses of Silversmiths and Cutlery Manufacturers, carried on by us at Sheffield, under the style of James Deakin and Sons, has been dissolved, by mutual consent, as from the 14th of January, 1893, so far as relates to the said James Deakin. All debts owing to or by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said William Pitchford Deakin, John Deakin, and Albert Deakin, by whom the said businesses will be continued on their own account under the said style of James Deakin and Sons.—Dated 30th June, 1893.

SHEFFIELD WORKMEN AND THE SMALL-POX
The workpeople of Messrs. James Deakin and Sons, Matilda Street, held a meeting last Monday to consider what steps should be taken with regard to small-pox. They agreed that the men should pay 6d., women 3d., boys and girls 1½. to maintain any of their number who may become afflicted by a contagious disease, or who may have it in their homes. This is to be continued for four weeks, the men to receive 25s., women 12s. 6d., boys and girls 6s 3d. weekly.

George Shuttleworth Greening F.C.A.
We much regret to announce that Mr. G.S. Greening, F.C.A., senior partner in the firm of Franklin, Greening & Co., died at his home in Sheffield after a long illness. Mr. Greening, who was in his 74th year, was a partner of the late Sir George Franklin with whom he became associated 55 years ago, and who died in 1916. He became an Associate of the Institute in July 1881 and a Fellow in May 1906; his membership of the Institute amongst the Sheffield Chartered Accountants was second only to that of Mr. N.W. Burbridge who became an Associate in 1880. He was managing director of G.& J.W. Hawksley, Ltd. and was formerly director of James Deakin & Sons, Ltd.
Mr. Greening did not take any active part in public affairs, although he was keenly interested in politics. He leaves three sons and a daughter, the eldest son, Mr. George E. Greening, F.C.A., being a partner in the firm.
