To Frederick Richard Henry Lambart, lately of Glycine House, Hampton Court-road, Hampton Court, Middlesex, whose present residence cannot be ascertained, a Captain in the 2nd Battalion of the Royal Scots Fusiliers and a Member of the Naval and Military Club, Piccadilly, Middlessx.

TAKE notice, that a Bankruptcy Petition has been presented against you to this Court by Edwin William Streeter, now of No. 34, Holborn-viaduct, in the city of London, Diamond Merchant, and the Court has ordered that the publication of this notice in the London Gazette, and in the Morning Post and Naval and Military Gazette newspapers, shall be deemed to be service of the petition upon you; and further take notice, that the said petition will be heard at this Court on the 13th day of February, 1885, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon, on which day you are required to appear, and if you do not appear the Court may make a Receiving Order against you in your absence. The petition can be inspected by you on application at this Court.—Dated this 30th day of January, 1885.

Take notice, that a Bankruptcy Notice has been issued against you out of this Court, at the request of Edwin William Streeter, trading as Streeter and Company, of No. 18, New Bond-street, Middlesex, Jeweller and Diamond and Gem Merchant, and the Court has ordered that the publication of this notice in the London Gazette and in the Naval and Military Gazette and the Daily Chronicle newspapers, shall be deemed to be service of the said Notice upon you. THE STREETER PEARL FISHERY

Mr. T.. H. Haynes, of the firm of Streeter & Haynes has so far found the largest and most valuable pearl of the season, the value of it being estimated at £700. The fleet as a whole is doing exceedingly well, but the present excessive royalty, coupled with the low price of the shell, " takes a good deal of gilt off the ginger bread." Mr. T. H. Haynes was formerly a resident in Fiji, where he made the acquaintance of the late Lieut. Chippindall, R.N., who, on selling his estate in Savu Savu Bay, in the once cannibal colony, returned with Mr. Haynes to England. Here they met an old Fijian, Mr. Stonehewer Cooper, who at that time had just issued his large work entitled " Coral Lands," and which gave in extenso his experiences among Polynesian pearl divers. By him the two ex-settlers were introduced to Mr. Edwin W. Streeter, of Bond-street, the world-famous jeweller, who was then contemplating starting a large purely Polynesian pearl fishery. From enquires made by Stonehewer Cooper, it was deemed advisable to abandon the idea of fishing in the Pacific groups, and the head quarters of Mr. Streeter's extensive operations were therefore confined to the Northern and North-west coasts of this colony. Messrs. Cbippindall and Haynes were appointed joint managers of the fishery, and were afterwards joined by Mr, Streeter, junior. Both Messrs. Chippindall and Streeter have joined the great majority, and Mr. T. H. Haynes is, now alone in the field. The pearling fleet consists of many fine craft, notably the Telephone, which, in the great hurricane of some months back, successfully brayed the whole force of the storm. Mr. Streeter's operations in West Australian waters, in the Straits of Manaar, his connections with the. ruby mines in Burmah and in Queensland, are of the most extensive character, and place him in about,the foremost position among the wholesale jewellers of the age. At no distant date we may be in a position to give through these columns some hitherto unpublished facts connected with the pearl fisheries of this great firm, together with some equally MS.S. legends connected with the older and even more romantic oyster beds, which are enclosed in so many of the lonely atolls which dot the great South Seas.

Tho largest sapphire ever found was In the collection of the London Jeweler Edwin Streeter, which was lately dispersed by auction, The stone before it was cut in two was as large as a child's head, and the larger piece is 7½ inches across.

In the Matter of STREETER AND CO. Limited.
At an Extraordinary General Meeting of the above named Company, duly convened, and held at 18, New Bond-street, London, W., on the 1st day of March, 1905, the following Special Resolution was duly passed; and at a subsequent Extraordinary General Meeting of the said Company, also duly convened, and held at the same place, on the 21st day of March, 1905, the following resolution was duly confirmed, viz.:—
" That the Company be wound up voluntarily."
And at such last mentioned Meeting, Edwin William Streeter, F.R.G.S., of 18, New Bond-street, London, W., George Dixey, F.O.A , of 27, Regent-street, London, S.W., and Robert Dudley, J.P., of Clevedon Lodge, Warwick, were appointed Liquidators for the purposes of such winding up.—Dated this 21st day of March, 1905.

Notice is hereby given, that the creditors of the above named Company, are required, on or before the 24th day of April next, to send their names and
addresses, and particulars of their debts or claims, to Edwin William Streeter, George Dixey, and Robert Dudley, at 27, Regent-street, London, S.W., the Liquidators of the said Company; and if so required, by notice in writing from the said Liquidators, are, by their Solicitors, to come in and prove the said debts or claims at such time and place as shall be specified in such notice, or in default thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved.—Dated this 21st day of March, 1905.

At the recent great sale of precious stones by Mr. Streeter, the eminent London jeweler, the largest sum given was for a necklace, composed of 71 ornamental pearls, which sold for £3,200. Another necklace, composed of 20 cluster of emeralds and diamonds- a magnificent article—brought £820; and among other interesting lots were an opal and diamond suite, 820 guineas; a brooch of black pearl and diamonds, 420 guineas, and a bracelet composed of a splendid emerald surrounded with eighty-four brilliants, £525.
