A few nights ago the factory of the Homan Silver Plate Co. was entered by burglars, who secured ingots. Since then two men, Robert Dalton and Charles Meyers, have been arrested, and it is supposed they are the ones who entered the company’s factory.

Homan Silver Plate Co, will transfer their Chicago house to New York, August 1st. Charles J. Jacobs, for nine years in charge of their branch house here, will take charge of the New York salesrooms. The location of the New York house is at 32 Park Place.

The Homan Silver Plate Co, is now running day and night, trying to make goods to till the orders that are coming in with a rush that cannot be kept up with. This concern is doing a large foreign business as well as a domestic trade that is very gratifying.

The Homan Silver Plate Co., of Cincinnati, Ohio, have opened a fine office and salesroom at No. 32 Park Place, where they are showing a fine line of their goods. The office has been handsomely fitted up, and is in charge of Mr. Charles J. Jacobs. who was the former manager of the firm's Chicago office.

Burglars who had been detected in the building of the Homan Silver Plate Company a few weeks ago had a thrilling experience in escaping arrest. Two men had been seen on the first floor by the night watchman, They fled to the elevator platform and attempted to run it into the cellar. The power was off, and the truck with its two passengers suddenly dropped to the bottom of the shaft. Neither seemed to be badly injured and made their escape. About sixty pounds of metal were stolen.

Louis Homan, treasurer of the Homan Mfg. Co., is foreman of the new grand jury that was impaneled in the Hamilton County Court by Judge Dennis J. Ryan, Tuesday. This jury follows the preceding body which brought two indictments against Sheriff Richard B. Witt, of Hamilton County. Judge Ryan announced that he will not have any special instructions for the grand jurors, nor will be expect them to act as detectives or investigators.

F. E. Quinn, manager of the Chicago office of the Homan Mfg. Co., left last week to call on the trade in Detroit and larger cities of Ohio. Mr. Quinn will be gone for a couple of weeks. A. L. Wheaton, of the same concern, is calling on the trade in the north and will be gone for three weeks.

Sergeant Joe Homan, formerly of the Homan Mfg. Co., Cincinnati, and now attached to the 136th Field Artillery at Montgomery, Ala., was one of the representatives named for a one-half mile horse race to be held in the near future among the soldiers in Camp Sheridan, according to dispatches from the camp.

The Homan Silver Plate Co. will shut down the first week in July and put in a new power plant. This house has introduced a new device to attach to shaving mugs which suspends the brush in any position.
