The United Service Club, 16 West 36th street, presented a silver centrepiece to Major A Noel Blakeman, chief of staff in the Sound-money McKinley Inaugural and Grant Monument Parades. On the side are four shields, the first containing a twenty-dollar gold piece and the date of the sound-money parade, the second an etching of the White House and the date of the inaugural parade, the third an etching of Grant’s Tomb and the date of the Memorial parade, while the fourth incloses a testimonial of the givers’ appreciation of Major Blakeman’s “ability, sterling character and gentlemanly courtesy." This beautiful, massive centrepiece was made by the Mauser Manufacturing Company, 14 East 16th street, of sterling silver, twenty-four inches in diameter, weighs 190 ounces and valued at $750.

The Mauser Manufacturing Company, 14 East Fifteenth street, New York, silversmith, thinks of erecting a large new factory. An option has been obtained on land in Mount Vernon, a neighboring town, but a site in New York may be chosen.

CHICAGO

The Mauser Mfg. Co.’s local office has been removed from the fourth floor of the Champlain Building to the ninth floor of the Thomas Church Building, 151 Wabash Avenue, a change which affords the company much additional floor space. The newly acquired quarters have a frontage of 40 feet on Wabash Avenue and extend backwards to a depth of 27 feet. They have been handsomely fixtured with new wall cases and other equipment conducive to the comfort of the visiting trade under the supervision of Jack Stanley, the company’s Western manager.
