L. J. Walsh in New Position

L. J. Walsh is now advertising and sales manager of The Baer & Wilde Co., Attleboro. Mass., maker of the Kum-A-Part Kuff Button and Belt Buckle. For eight years Mr. Walsh was advertising manager for R. Wallace & Sons, Wallingford. Conn., and for the last two years served in a similar capacity with the American Optical Company, of Southbridge, Mass.

The silver punch bowl for the new gunboat 'Wheeling' is exhibited in the window of Jacob W. Grubb's jewelry store, Wheeling. W. Va. The bowl was made by R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co.. Wallingford, Conn., and is a fine specimen of silversmithing. On one side is an exact likeness of the new war dog, while on the other is an inscription which is as follows: "Presented to the U.S. Gunboat Wheeling, by the city of Wheeling. W. Va., 1897."

W. Station Restaurant, Tea Room and Lunch Counter, Chicago: Anheuser Busch new beautiful Sunset Inn, 1.5 miles out of St. Louis; Cafe Specht, St. Louis: four dining cars Southern R.R. Co., Washington. D. C. : Hotel Adams. Phoenix, Ariz.: New Cafe. Savery House. Des Moines, Iowa; general contract for the H.H. Kohlsaat Co., operating many lunch rooms, Chicago, and many others, including additional new equipment for La Salle Hotel. Chicago.

Stanley C. Shirt, with the International Silver Co., Wallingford, Conn., has been notified by the British Government that his brother, Private Robert Shirt, formerly with R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co., was killed in action in France on Aug. 16, 1918. Deceased was formerly a member of Company K. 102d. infantry but resigned to enlist in the British army.

Annual Meeting of the R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co.

Wallingford, Conn., Feb. 13.—At the annual meeting of the R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co. held here this afternoon the following directors were elected: F.A. Wallace. George M. Wallace. H.L. Wallace and W.J. Leavenworth. Wallingford: George M. Curtis, George H. Wilcox and George Rockwell, Meriden.

The officers elected were: F.A. Wallace, president; H.L. Wallace, secretary: W.J. Leavenworth, treasurer.

The new catalogue of R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co., Wallingford, Conn., just issued, is devoted to illustrations of sterling silver tableware and souvenir spoons. In the line of tableware many new patterns have been added since the publication of the last catalogue, the array embracing select patterns in tea spoons, fancy spoons, ice cream, fish and pie knives, sugar tongs, etc. The pages devoted to souvenir spoons show a number of specimens of both etching and die work, the company having been very busy on both kinds of work since the inauguration of the fad. With the recent addition to their plant R. Wallace & Sons are now ready to meet all demands for their popular wares in sterling plate and nickel.

Marriage of Frank A. Wallace, President of R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co.

Wallingford, Conn., Dec. 7.—At high noon to-day at the Atwater homestead, the home of the bride's grandmother, 186 Christian St., a pretty home wedding took place, the bride being Miss Rose Manning, daughter of Mrs. Frederick Royal Manning, and the groom, Frank A. Wallace, president of the R. Wallace & Sons Mfg. Co. The marriage was solemnized in the parlor, which had been charmingly trimmed in Christmas decorations. Henry L. Wallace was the best man, and Rev. John Blair was the officiating clergyman. Quite a number of guests from New York, New Haven and adjoining towns attended.

The bride and groom left for the south this afternoon on a bridal tour and on their return they will be "at home," m S. Main St., on the second and third Wednesdays of January.
