Hi all, I would like to look at the subject of jewellers/silversmith Tokens which seem to act as a form of advertising. I have seen a few over the past 12 months and any I get/have will post on here and would love for you to do the same along with any information you can add.
Here is one to get us started

Great idea!

Thomas Brown's business was established in 1830.

By 1924 at least, Thomas Brown's business was in the hands of Florence Annie Moss. She still traded under the name of Thomas Brown and was located at the 12, London Road address.

Florence entered a mark 'ThosB' contained within an oblong punch, with the Chester Assay Office on the 15th November 1924.

Guessing the token maybe later possibly early 20th century.
Interesting under the portrait in very small letters is Fattorini so maybe this is the gentleman himself!

SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY

1847 Rogers Bros. Send Out Unique New Years Card in Celebration of the Founding of the Business



The year 1922 marks the 75th anniversary of "1847 Rogers Bros." silver plate, and in celebration of the event a unique New Year's card has been sent out to the trade. Inset in the heavy card is a handsome commemorative token, illustrated in the accompanying photograph.

This anniversary is of more than passing interest since it marks not only the foundation of a great business but of an industry as well. In 1847 the electroplating process came into use and the three Rogers brothers —Asa. William and Simeon—who perfected and developed this process, were not only the founders of a business but the pioneers who blazed the way for an industry.

In the celebration of this birth year planned by the company, the anniversary token sent out with the cards will play an important part. Reproductions of it in the form of seals will appear on the special anniversary box—blue velvet lined and adorned with a silk ribbon—in which 1847 Rogers Bros, silverware will be distributed. This special package will take the place this year of the company's regular velvet-lined gift box, and at no additional cost.

Supplementing this will be a complete line of "helps," window and counter cards and newspaper advertisements ready for use— all of this material featuring the anniversary idea. Throughout the year the national 'advertising of the company will also be full of the jubilee spirit.

"We enter the year 1922," writes the International Silver Co., "feeling that it holds great opportunity and that it will be a memorable one in '1847 Rogers Bros.' history." To retailers handling the "1847" line —and to those who have not done so hitherto—the company offers the fullest measure of cooperation.

The 75th anniversary medal shows on one side the famous 1847 girl and the words, "75th Anniversary 1847 Rogers Bros."
The reverse side reads as follows: "1847 —History records the birth year of 1847 Rogers Bros, as a year of plenty. May this 75th anniversary year prove one of prosperity to him in whose hands this token falls—1922."
