DETROIT
Manufacturing jewelers here report a considerable number of workmen coming into Detroit from different parts of Canada. Higher wages and a greater demand for workmen in this line here are said to be the causes. Thus far Detroit has been able to furnish them prompt employment. Practically are experts of the highest type and readily picked up by manufacturers here. Very few jewelry workmen are reported coming here from European centers. The manufacturers are paying good wages and demand efficiency from every one they employ.

A. PETIT
Hull, Quebec
A difficulty has arisen in connection with the disposition of the stock of A. Petit, jeweler, Hull, Que., whose strange disappearance has caused such considerable comment. It seems that Notary Malo has taken possession in the name of his creditors, and that a bailiff representing the landlord also forced open the door of the shop and made an inventory of the stock. The question now in dispute is which of the two has the rightful claim on the stock.
