On Tuesday, Dec. 15, a package of jewelry valued at over $1,000, which had been sent by the T. Eaton Co., Toronto, to the jewelry engraving establishment of J. H. Jackson & Co., 35 Adelaide St. W., to be engraved for customers, was consigned to a messenger boy to be returned. The articles were placed in a small valise, which was put in a hand delivery cart with other packages. On the way the messenger, happening to look around, found the valise gone and at once reported the loss. It is stated that the boy was ignorant of the value of the goods and that he did not notice anything unusual in the course of his trip.
