THOMAS MOODIE
Edinburgh
A RECENT JEWELLERY ROBBERY
Two Arrests
The Marchioness of Londonderry arrived at the Waverley Station, Edinburgh, on Wednesday night, and drove to the Balmoral Hotel, where her ladyship's jewel case, valued at £1,500, was missed. Information was lodged with the police, who succeeded in recovering part of the stolen jewels on the premises of a jeweller. A constable found the outer cover of the case in a close in the gran market, and this discovery led to the apprehension of two thieves, in whose possession the remainder of the jewellery was found. The jewellery case had been stolen from the railway station.
Magisterial Proceedings
Thomas Moodie, watchmaker, James Bartholomew, and William Scott were remanded at Edinburgh, to-day, charged with the theft of jewellery belonging to the Marchioness of Londonderry.
