In the book which is available on google The Past and Present of Kane County, Illinois, Chicago: William Le Baron & Co 186 Dearborn St, 1878, E W Trask is said to have started in business in Aurora in 1860. He is listed on the tax rolls there beginning in the 1860's and was still in Aurora, Illinois listed as a jewelry store owner in 1910.
There is Kane County Court record of Edwin Wallace Trask marrying Adela Cornelia Hawkins 26 October 1864.
