Scipio Clint--Medallist, Die Sinker & Engraver

Hi,

An advertisment for the Medallist, Die Sinker and Seal Engraver Scipio Clint, published in 1838, just a few months before his death.

Scipio Clint (1805-1839) was the son George Clint ARA, the portrait painter and engraver. He was awarded a medal by the Society of Arts in 1824 and exhibited at the Royal Acadamy in 1825 and 1830.

He was appointed Medallist to William IV and Seal Engraver to Queen Victoria.

Scipio Clint died on the 6th August 1839, aged just 34 years old.

Married

On Sunday, August 20th, at St Clements Danes, Mr Scipio Clint, Medallist to His Majesty, of Rolls Buildings, Fetter Lane, to Anne, youngest daughter of the late J. Anderson, Esq. one of the Six Clerks.
