Hi,

A few notes on some of the previous post's silversmiths.

Thomas John Burke: Registered at Dublin in 1784, in compliance with the Act 23 & 24 Geo. III c. 23. (Ireland). At registration his address was given as Quay Lane, so the move to Bridge Street occured sometime 1784-1788. He died in 1800.

Patrick Connell: Another of those who entered their name in the register at Goldsmith's Hall, Dublin in 1784. Although Jackson has last mention of him in 1788, Bennett records that he was alive when his wife died on the 4th June 1792.

Henry Downes: Maybe the greatest goldsmith of all time, well maybe. He died in 1788.

Maurice Fitzgerald: Registered at Dublin in 1784. Freeman of the City of Limerick 1794. Bennett records his working period as 1760-1817 and that he died in Rutland Street on the 18th May 1817. He is buried at St John's Church, Limerick alongside his wife who died two years earlier.

Daniel Lysaght: Registered at Dublin in 1786. In Januuary 1788 he married the daughter of James M'Loughlin of Ennis and moved there. He went bankrupt in 1802 and was still alive in 1804.

Henry Downes: Worked in Dublin prior to Limerick.

Maurice Fitzgerald: Bailsman at the Tholsel Court in 1787 and 1789.

Daniel Lysaght: Bailsman at the Tholsel Court in 1786.

Charles Harrison, who appears in the above directory listing, was also recorded as a Watchmaker, Clockmaker, Book Seller, Stationer, and Scale Maker, located at Main Street, English-town, Limerick, in 1769.
