The list may not be comprehensive as I am not fully aware of the names of all the companies represented there, but any missing names can be added when information comes to light.

Hi,

It appears that James Stodart, the cutler, was working directly for the British East India Company on a salary of £166-10s-8d per annum. The Company also employed two other cutlers, John Plomer (£100-0s-0d per annum) and Frederick Palmer (£100-0s-0d per annum).
The fact that Stodart is also listed separatetly as a cutler, leads to the possibility that he may have been the supplier of knife blades etc. to the Calcutta silversmiths.

Hi,

Henry Woollaston was also listed as a Director of the 'Union Bank' of Calcutta, which listed among its shareholders, G F Remfrey and Joseph Rondo.

Woollaston is also noted as serving on the committee of the 'Calcutta Seaman's Friend' or 'Bethal Society'.

Here is a fine pair of spoons made by Lattey Brothers & Co. of 10, Government Place, Calcutta. They would date c.1850.

Arthur Pittar Lattey invested in the railway system as can be seen below and acquired directorships in two railway companies.

As also can be seen is his home address that was 4, Gloucester Gardens, Hyde Park, London W.

An unusual set of marks that appear to be by Lattey Brothers & Co. as found on an egg spoon, 4 1/2" (11.3 cm) in length and 16 gm in weight.
