Further to the posts on 11th November 2009 one is left wondering why Sir Edward is recorded as being 65 years of age at the time of the 1841 Census. His obituary shows he was born in 1770 and he would have been at least 70 years old!
I don't think there's any doubt that Sir Edward was about as vain as a peacock, and would not be surprised, even with the importance of a Census, if he knocked a few years off his age.
