possible identification of hallmark

On the American unidentified page the last mark, bottom right hand column is a point down equilateral triangle containing the letters WDC. This is identical to the trademark of William Demuth Co. Demuth was a German immigrant teenage pipemaker who became a personal friend of Pres. Garfield. The mark was probably on a pipe band, more likely meerschaum than briar.

Hello.

Agree that William Demuth & Company used that mark on bands for smoking pipes.
However, I believe the picture of the mark in the unidentified section came from Tom (Admin) who found it on the handle of a cane.
Don't know for sure if William Demuth & Company produced canes.
It's possible they did. In their later years, they bought out other companies and diversified.
