This vessel was made by Tiffany in 1869.
What is the name given to this shape or form of jug?

either it recalls gourds and such, or I am in desperate need of food.

Seriously, there are tendrils and long thin red peppers and other decorative touches that suggest the vegetable kingdom.

Though, its origin having been Tiffany, it probably has a more elegant name recalling classical antecedents.

- hark! I hear a sandwich!

The name I'm looking for here is a Roman term.
This shape derived from Greco-Roman pottery vessels.
Another one of my books says these were inspired by peasant's wine skins.
Sorry, no mention of gourds in my references.

Well done kerangoumar.

Yes, this shape or design is called Askos.
