Another Mystery Object-What in the Heck is This?

Postby silvercrown » Wed Jul 25, 2007 11:01 am

This object looks like a letter opener, but it has a very sharp point. It is 10 1/8" long. It is English Sterling, hallmarked for Sheffield with a date mark for 1911/1912. The maker is Atkins Bros. Any idea what this is? Thank!

Thanks, Tom, but I hate it when my husband is right!

If it makes you feel any better, a lot of retailers of both old and new pieces advertise them as skewer letter openers or paper knives.

Cheryl, thanks for the moral support! At least now I feel I was half right!
