What-is-it question LI.

These items were made between 1850 and 1910.
I'd estimate their lengths from 4 to 5 inches (10.16cm to 12.70cm).
They all served the same purpose.
What are they called?

But from the looks, probaly something to do with fishing .. how are those corks called again?

They are not jewelry and don't have anything to do with fishing.

Well, I think Miles has it, but suspect that they are very much smaller than 4-5 inches. Judging from their scale in comparison to the jump rings and hallmarks on Mr. Fish, perhaps they are more in the area of 1½ to 3½ inches?

Can't resist a guess. The fish sure looks like a whistle, but I think the rest are clutch type mechanical pencils. They'd fall right within Cheryl's size estimates when closed.

Good idea, but these are not whistles.

Just a guess on my part.

The book calls them "Propelling pencils".
