Tea Strainer?

Postby hpidaves » Sat Nov 06, 2021 9:38 am

This unmarked silverplate piece looks to be a tea strainer, but it has feet and no extra "lip" on one side to support it over a cup. It measures 4-1/4" from opposite edge to the end of the handle.
Is this a tea strainer?

Thanks,
Dave

Yes, I believe it to be a tea strainer, the drip tray is missing.
Google; Tea Strainer With Base Silver Plate 3 Ball Feet 2 Piece Silver Plate Elegant Heart Handle
This is a pretty silver plated 2 piece tea strainer with a matching base or drip tray and a heart shaped handle that is used over the cup to strain the tea leaves from your teapot getting into your teacup.

The tea strainer measures 5.25 inches long by 3.25 inches in diameter and stands on 3 ball feet. The matching round base is 4 inches in diameter.

The tea strainer and base are in very good +++ used vintage condition. The base is perfect, but the tea strainer has a small, light dent by the base of a foot. Perfect for your next tea party.

Peter.
