Hi all. Can anybody let me know what this small solid silver bottle or flask was used for and if possible where it was made and how old it might be. There is an old thread or cord attached to the 'cork' and the decoration suggests it might be middle eastern or Indian. On either side of the flask there is a decorated panel which is gilded. It is about 6cm high and is very heavy for its size weighing 30 grams. No hallmarks, but is tested silver. Would be grateful for any help. Many thanks. John

Re: Middle East small silver bottle
Perhaps a silver Arabian (Oudh) perfume/ scent/vinaigrette flask.

Thanks for the idea and the link Peter. Looks like the perfume is a lot more expensive than the silver flask!!!
I think you are right. Some sort of perfume container.
