Hi, I am new to the site. I joined because I found a neat little silver/silver plated dish in a thrift store and bought it. It has a strange engraving on the lid. It appears to be a child's arm, with a puffy sleeve, holding a baby rattle. The lid handle is a tree limb design and the handles are bows with tree limb designs. There are marks. The top has a number 2 mark and the bottom seems to have a number 1, but I cannot tell if it is a mark or a dimple in the metal. The bottom marks are very hard for me to see. Two of them are almost smeared looking. Could anyone give me any information on this item? Thank you so much.

Can't enlarge at the hosting site, so try posting at the 640 size (click/tap in the selection bars they give you before copying). Basically a serving set with a family lineage identified on the lid. The numbers 1 & 2 likely show which pieces of the set, and if the handle turns to unlock there might be a third number. To identify the maker, and hopefully metals involved, you'll need a better shot of the five (?) marks.

https://postimg.cc/gallery/24ojejix4/Hi, Thank you so much for all of your help. I have taken some new pictures to show you. The problem is that the first two markings are fairly clear, I can see the second one is a "P," I believe? The last 3 are so blurred and not mark well. It almost looks like the marker just did not care and smudge it on and sent it off. Is that a sign of terrible quality? Also, does the hand with rattle signify anything important? It is really odd, almost macabe looking. Lol Here are the best pictures that I could take. Thank you so very much for all of your help. It is truly appreciated ! Image

Your images are too blurry, Perhaps in gothic letters EPNS for: Electro Plated Nickel Silver. See:
