A small American patented clip from 1902, just the sort of thing that would be found in a jewel case and its original purpose unknown:




It actual size, I suspect, would be as below:



Whilst I guess this clip could be used for several uses, I'm looking for original purpose for which it was sold back in 1902.

No, not a money clip, although perhaps it may have performed that task later in life, but not the intended use in 1902.
