I would like to know anything I can about this piece. I have no idea what it is or what it was used for or what time frame it is from.
It is also marked STERLING D6637 along with the maker's mark.

You haven't indicated its size but it looks like an early 20thC Gorham sterling perfume stick or dabber that would sit in a crystal perfume bottle and which one would use to apply perfume.

AS to what to do with it: I would measure it and wait patiently until I found a bottle that could serve as a mate.

http://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html might be helpful in giving you more information.

The overall length is 6". The glass part is 4 3/8" in length. The diameter of the glass starts out at 3/8" and goes to 3/4" where it meets the silver.

Is this not for rings. Placed at the lady table for holding the juwellery.
