Mystery Pattern by Whiting -- Any Guesses?

Postby SusanWhite » Thu Feb 01, 2007 10:21 pm

Hello!

Have a pair of bon bon spoons by Whiting, one in the Imperial Queen pattern and the other??

Maybe this will be a fun thing or maybe someone out there already knows what it is, but it would be nice if we knew what the pattern on the other spoon is....

Thanks in advance!!
Susan

(admin edit - don't add brackets - if the link includes "php" coding does not work!)

Have collected lily of the valley spoons for years, this is not a full-line pattern, the pattern number is 39 (I call it LOTV Twist), believe the only pieces that I've run across are spoons, cocktail forks and the bon-bon, my demi spoon has a French grey finish. Interestingly, I have a Birmingham 1892/93 spoon with the same finial, but it's cast, with hand-cut piercing and engraved detail.

Believe your Imperial Queen piece is a sugar sifter rather than a bon-bon.
