Unknown Mark & Pattern

Post by hpidaves »

This hollow handle fruit knife (6-1/2") has two script letter inside squares on the blade. I am terrible at identifying script letters from long ago. Any ideas as to maker and/or pattern? I have done the best I can on the photos. I believe it is silverplate as I cannot see any sterling mark.

Thanks,
Dave

Thank you -- I believe you are correct:

Oneida Community - Avalon 1901

I have never seen Oneida Community use that mark before.

Thanks again,
Dave

Perhaps oriented to the Canadian trade only, where mark style might make a difference?
