Fairfield Alpha

It's already established that Fairfield is International Silver Company through one of the plants (Wm. Rogers Canada is the suspect). Fairfield is seen to be an "also ran" mark on some known and named patterns. So where does "Alpha" come from....official or just a collector dubbed name? Unlike other "also rans", Fairfield makes no use of "Silver Company" or other psuedo-names and is accompanied by an actual maker identification mark (even if that is a psuedo). Is Fairfield therefore just a line name? And now, this sample...looking like it might carry commercial user marks (applied a bit crooked). Just raises another thought...If Fairfield was a commercial lines name, then might the patterns have been in use somewhat earlier than they were released for public consumption as household patterns?
